Every congress or tradeshow is a great opportunity to learn new business lessons. Here are the 3 main lessons I have drawn from my 3 days at Web Summit. Feel free to use them when attending big networking events!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if one of the 2,000 start-ups that were exhibiting at Web Summit had invented a way to slow down time? I wish I could have talked with many more entrepreneurs there: their passion, their commitment to their product and their intelligence were so inspiring! Here are some of the great people I have met at Web Summit.

Canada (12^th largest GDP in the world and home to 35 million people) stretches over 5,500 kilometers and 4 time zones. It is a federation of 13 semi-autonomous provinces and territories (local government, legislative assemblies and specific laws). The country is officially bilingual, though the majority of the population is Anglophone whereas Quebec is mostly Francophone. Canada has a 8,900 kilometer-long common border with the USA, its largest trading partner.

We all had a blast last week in Dublin, some of us for the first time! How to best describe this experience? Let me say it was a pleasant mix of delightful people, shiny stages with renowned speakers and inspiring entrepreneurial projects. Was it even more pleasant because I ended up getting a free Web Summit ticket? I’m not sure, but I will definitely do it again.
